Cara format komputer

Format berarti menghapus seluruh isi drive berikut data-datanya. Kadangkala anda perlu memformat hard disk anda seperti, ketika selesai mempartisi hard disk atau ketika hardisk terkena virus yang tak bisa di bersikan. Jikan anda memformat hard disk maka anda akan menghapus semua isi hard disk berikut virusnya. Back up atau buat cadangan file-file yang penting pada drive lain sebelum anda memformat hard disk.

Cara memformat ialah dengan mengetik "format drive: misalnya anda akan memformat drive C, maka langkahnya adalah:

c:\>format c:

maka akan tampil pesan

"warning, all data on-removable disk drive c: will be lost!

Proceed with format? (y/n)

ketik Y dan tekan ENTER untuk mulai memformat. Setelah setelah selesai akan tampil

"volume label (11 characters, enter for none)?

Tuliskan maksimal 11 karakter untuk nama drive, tidak ditulispun tidak apa tekan ENTER.

Jika anda ingin melihat isi file, misalnya anda akan mencatat serial number yang berada pada file serial.txt pada direktori
d:\win98, maka ketikan

D:\win98>type serial.txt


Format means vanishs all contents of drive following its the data.
